About Us
Master Jerry Racicot started training in the Martial Arts in 1974.
His first interest was to learn self defence as he was bullied in his youth. He studied Ki-Szuki-Do Karate from the fall of 1974 to the summer of 1978. He attained a Black Belt in Karate under Sensei Mike Gibson of New Liskeard, Ontario.
In the summer of 1978 Master Jerry decided to participate in a Tae Kwon Do/Karate Tournament hosted by Jong Park Institute of Tae Kwon Do. It was held at the C.N.E. in Toronto. He found himself being overwhelmed by the kicking ability of the Tae Kwon Do practitioners and decided “if you can’t beat them, join them”.
Master Jerry went looking for a Tae Kwon Do Master and was fortunate to discover a phenomenal Master. That man would be none other than Master Chung Kee Tae. He was trained by the founding fathers in both Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido. Grand Master Chung was then a 7th Dan Black Belt in both arts. Master Jerry’s road to Black Belt was difficult but very rewarding! Within a decade Master Jerry attained his 4th Dan (Master) level in Tae Kwon Do, as well as a Black Belt in Hapkido.
Today Master Jerry is one of the highest ranking instructors in the country. Master Jerry has also trained in Kali, a Filipino Martial Art taught to him by Grand Master Nonoy Galano, whom he holds in the highest esteem. Master Jerry has been featured in magazines such as Inside Tae Kwon Do and published in 2000 in a book on Tae Kwon Do. He has also been on the front page of newspapers twice for his commitment to the Martial Arts.
His passion is to teach both adults and children. Master Jerry’s goal is to lead adults and children on a quest to have a Black Belt mentality, physically and spiritually. Master Jerry finds truth and inspiration from the Word of God to help him be a good role model and instructor.
